Got To Get Out Hikes Waitawheta

/Got To Get Out Hikes Waitawheta

This weekend a group of 24 hiked up to the Department of Conservation Waitawheta hut which is approximately 2 hours outside of Auckland. It was an absolutely magical experience despite the wee bit of rain on the first day!

The group met as we always do at The Raw Kitchen Ponsonby Road for almond milk coffee and delicious healthy food, then headed off down the country in convoy. We stopped for a quick photo at the L&P bottle in Paeroa, then commenced the hike after meeting our awesome guides at the start of the hike.

During the hike, the team fed their wild side with Jack Link’s Beef Jerky from Jack Links NZ (thanks guys!) and later in the night enjoyed a few well-earned brews from our buddies at DB Export.

The DB export citrus and DB export 33’s went down a treat after a long hike – as the rain poured down in the evening we chatted over dinner.

The overnight hike ended back at our HQ (Chapel Bar & Bistro) for pizzas and beers, with Alice being the lucky winner of the Macpac voucher prize by putting her reciept in the draw! Thanks to Macpac for hooking up our crew with a special discount, and prizes for participants.

Cheers to Jack Links NZ, DB Export, Chapel Bar & Bistro and of course Macpac – the gear we all choose to wear!
